How many of you have every sent your car to be worked on and have it come back looking ok, but when you start to work on it yourself, issues arise?I had my car dynotuned on a Mustang Dyne dyno before I had my car worked on. Achieved 400rwhp on 18lbs of boost. Not bad. Well, turns out I had 35psi compression in the 6th cylinder. I don't know how to build engine, so after doing everything else on my car, I give it up to a shop that says they can. Two months later and I have found multiple issues which I fixed since they would not cover it. Well, I put my car on the dyno yesterday to make sure that the car is back to normal and I achieve a measly 320rwhp on hi-boost. I wont say 18 lbs because my car couldnt even get past 14lbs. The boost chart on the dynograph shows me hitting 14psi at around 4000rpm and it dropping immediately afterwards to 10lbs. I couldn't hold boost. So i did a boost leak test. My manifold was leaking from the 4th cylinder area. I just got done replacing the manifold gasket and I know why it's still leaking. The bolts wont tighten. They seem to be stripped. Now, they thread in but they never lock. So now, not only have I had issues with my car, it now has damage. I have contacted Discover about the last issues and put a dispute on the second charge of the work just to have them notice that I am not happy with the work they have done. They still have a 1700$ deposit that I have not refuted as of now. I have a strong inclination to do so at this moment though. Now I ask, who thinks I should take all my money back until they admit to the shoddiness of their work and what would you all do after that? Do I just take all my money back for quality of work and damage done to the car's vitals? Or do I trust these people to fix what they caused and let them keep their money?
